Data Glue For Mac

There's one critical step that's missing here. Before doing Step 18, you have to make sure the iSight camera is in the right place. It's 'floating' inside the computer housing and has to be positioned just right for the glass to close/seal properly with the frame. I followed all of these steps but the glass would not seal around the camera, leaving a 1/8' gap there and distortion on the LCD when powered on. I had to re-order the strips and do the process over again.

While doing a 'dry run', I realized the camera was the culprit and was able to hold it in position with a paper clip which allowed for the glass to adhere properly on the 2nd try.

Says:Hey everyone! I'm needing some urgent advice. I'm creating a piece to enter into a juried show in 2 weeks. I've not used MAC glue before, and when I went to glue my clear TG onto my glass surface, the mac glue 'crackled' or 'spider-webbed' as it dried. Not a nice effect at all!

Have any of you had this problem? Am I using too much MAC glue? It is humid here, and around 60 degrees F. Thanks in advance for your help!!:)Lynn (Bezalel)11:32AM, 12 March 2010 PDTsays:Not sure what the problem is, you only use a small amount on the glass, spread really thinly, make sure you get all the edges.l use it all the time and never had that problem so l think you must be using too muchMaryages agosays:I think Mary is right - also just do around the edges rather than the whole piece - if they are big enough. I have had that before but have wanted that effect on wings.

Lindenages agosays:Thanks so much, Poppins and Crozaics! Need for speed underground 2 remastered ps4. I've been working with Mac glue since I posted this question, and it seems to be o.k. In fact, I used it on my latest work, a 'bowl' called 'Gift.' It's a swirly bird surrounded by clear TG. The Mac helped heaps with the concave surface and looks great with the TG. It got accepted into our most difficult show, as well!! J link serial number. Yippee!!BTW, I think the 'crazed' effect of the dried Mac glue happened whenever I used it in a cold environment.

It hasn't happened since our weather heated up. Hmmmm.Originally posted ages ago.Lynn Bevino Felts Bezalel Mosaics edited this topic ages ago.says:What does TG stand for?15 months agosays:Hey!

This is Tim Mcintire! Co founder of Mac. No longer with the company, but I know the adhesive well. Shoot me an email at tmcfantasyfootball@yahoo.com and I’ll try to help you out. I’d need to know the situation to assist ya. You can feel free to post my response to you on here.

I’d need to know, was it cold, damp weather,??? Did you put the adhesive on thick??? With Mac you don’t need a lot of adhesive for it to bond well. Also, weather conditions, humidity can affect adherence. The only time that has ever happened with me I was building up layers of Mac too quickly.

Applying a piece that wasn’t flat to a flat surface. Annnd it was late December. I was just trying to use too much, too quickly. Anyway, that spiderweb can be caused because with the drying evaporating process the resins shrink up a hair. When applied thickly that can happen, though it is a rare occurrence. Have you used Mac much in the past? I always encourage ppl to be frugal with it!

Just a little bit goes a long way! Unlike other adhesives you will still maintain great bonding integrity. Sorry for the generic response.

That is the best information I can offer you without knowing the specifics. How long have you had the adhesive? Has it thickened any in the bottle? The older Mac (or any adhesive gets for that matter) the consistency changes and you have to feel out how to use it.

When thicker it tends to go on, thicker. Try to use the same amount. I still have an old, aged bottle that I use from time to time just to test it out. It still works well, I just have to be careful to not apply it too thick. When applying it thick, for pieces not flat use it in stages.

Let it dry then add another layer, til it is built up4 months agosays:By the way, I love your work!4 months agosays:I just read your cold comment! Yea humidity and temp can make a difference. Just have to make sure you put it on thin! It will take a bit more time to ‘grab’ to the bonding surfaces in colder weather. Grabs quicker and better than the alternatives4 months agosays:If you go w going around the edges I’d give it a little wiggle once laid down. Though it dries crystal clear you can see shadows where the glue is and isn’t. In the same way you can see drips of water.4 months agosays:The wiggle smooths it out, makes the adhesive even thinner(less shadow between the edge of it and the unbounded area and breaks up the straight edges some.

Blending it better. Same way camouflage patterns work. Remember, just because it dries crystal clear sometimes it can still be seen when there is areas under the glass that do not have the adhesive. The more one works with glass on glass, the more they will pick up little tricks like this.4 months ago.
